Our Bathroom Renovation

I’d been desperate to redo our bathroom since we bought our house over 5 years ago, but like everything it’s taken us this long to pull our finger out and get round to planning and doing it. Renovations are such a learning curve, you will undoubtedly get those ‘wish we’d done this instead of that’ moments and the fear of making the wrong decision had put us off the work for a long time. We also planned to combine the bathroom renovation with other work (we are doing a kitchen extension and downstairs bathroom/toilet as well) which added to the…

A Quick Guide to Porto

I had little expectations when it came to visiting Porto, I’d heard lots of great things about the city but having visited Lisbon three times I wasn’t sure if it would be able to rival my love for it’s capital. Within my post I articulating some of my own thoughts and ways in which I wanted to cut down on my fast fashion consumption and seek alternative ways to enjoy fashion without over consuming. In an attempt to practice what I preach and positively change my shopping habits, i’ve recently…

All Women

This post has been brewing for a while and after watching Kathy Burkes ‘All Women’ last night I felt compelled to get my words down. The first episode tackles the construct of beauty and how social media and current social pressures warp our sense of beauty standards and the way women should look. The program explores so much of what I’ve been feeling for a while around social media and what quite frankly feels like, the death of individuality. I’ve been creating content seriously for a couple of years now and I’ve started to feel really disillusioned and disappointed with…
