I thought I’d write a post on one of my favourite brands of the moment – With Jean. I get lots of messages on Instagram about the fit and sizing of both With Jean and Realisation Par, given that they are both online only brands and you can’t try before you buy it’s really tricky to know how they fit. As I own three of their dresses, all in different styles, im hoping this post can offer some advice if you’re in the market for one of their pieces.

So firstly, I own mediums in all three of my dresses. The thing I most commonly get asked is what size im wearing in my posts on Instagram. I’m usually an 8-10 in UK sizes so as a rule of thumb I would usually opt for a small in most brands as that usually translated to an 8-10, however, in terms of With Jean a medium is actually a 10 and a large is a 12 so make sure to size up.

As they are an Australian brand you will likely pay import duties if you are shipping them to the UK or Europe, I’ve been sneeky and got around that by getting them sent to friends who live in Australia and then getting them to send on to me. So make sure to hit up and pals you’ve got there if you are wanting anything from Aussie brands as import duties and taxes can make already expensive brands ridiculous.

Marseille Dress

My most recent purchase was the Marseille dress in yellow, I went for my usual size medium and I would say that this comes up even smaller than my other two dresses, I could have even got a large and feel like it would be fine. I have 34D bra size and it’s definitely made for a smaller cup size, it’s not really the type of dress you can wear a bra with so bare that in mind if you don’t feel comfortable going without. It has elasticated waist detail which is why I think you can size up in it quite easily and it’s quite short as you can see from the pictures. Overall it’s a lovely dress and definitely a firm summer favourite of mine.

Isabelle Dress

The Marseille and Isabelle dresses are really different in the material as well as the style. For me the Isabelle dress feels like better quality and I love the elasticated detail at the bust and sleeves. I don’t wear this with a bra as I think it looks a lot better without, I don’t know how easy it would be to do so given its off the shoulder and cupped bust fit so might not be for you if you prefer something with more support. I have a medium in the Isabelle and I’d say it fits absolutely perfectly. Completely obsessed with both the colour and style of this dress, would definitely recommend it.

Ines Dress

The third dress I own is the beautiful blue polka dot Ines dress. I absolutely love the square neckline and bell sleeves as well as the colour and print, I’m suck a sucker for anything polka dot. I own this in a medium and it fits perfectly, it’s quite mini in length and is bra friendly, it’s a lot more versatile from spring to summer to autumn with the long sleeves and higher neckline to the other two I own.

Femme and Gabrielle Top

Oh and did I mention I also own two tops by With Jean? Well yes I do, so thought I’d say something about the fit of those too! I actually think the tops are more standard in the sizing, I own both of mine in medium as well because the size guide on the site still reference a medium as a 10 for the tops but Depending how you like the fit I’d say go for your normal size. The green polka dot Gabrielle top I probably needed a small as it comes up a little big especially as it has an elasticated waist and sleeves and therefore is a little roomier. The cream and red polka dot Femme top fits fine as it has a pull front ruched detail which you can adjust to how you like it and I personally like the oversized fit.
